10:14 am - Family Fun Time
|
My two sisters and one brother-in-law were just here visiting for the first time in YEARS! What a ride!
We mostly explored downtown, the market, and pioneer square. It was interesting being a tourist in your hometown, but fun.
Then I took them out to Snoqualmie Falls, North Bend and back here to the Ballard Locks and Ray's for happy hour. Good times were had by all.
But I AM WIPED OUT! All this fun takes it's toll on my old lady body! I need to get in shape!
...now back to work, back to w.o.r.k....

11:04 pm - Whew, what a day....
|
My niece came up for a visit last Wed. We've been having fun around the city. Thursday we walked around downtown and did some shopping. Friday we walked a lot more and rode the DUCK! I've never done that before but it was fun being a tourist in my own town for a couple of hours. Sat. we went to my friend aerolyn1's bachelorette party at Marrakesh in Belltown - def. a highlight of the weekend!! Sunday we had a client's barbeque and was also a LOT of fun. He's a great guy and full of sh*t! :P
Monday, we headed to Pullman to check out WSU's Veterinary program. Man, what a long drive esp. for the last couple of hours! Nothing but WHEAT! Today was our campus tour and meetings w/faculty. We learned a lot. She really enjoyed it and it's cool to see the future in her eyes. And I also enjoyed it. It got me out of my daily mindset and it was very interesting to see what's out there and available in the collegiate world. It's been SO LONG for me, I'd forgotten. But it was cool to relive that a little bit today.
We got back to the hotel and were so tired!! We grabbed a quick dinner and watched a few Buffy Season 1 episodes on the laptop and she's now passed out next to me. She's so cute! I'm very excited for her!
Tomorrow we're gonna check out the campus some more and see where the day takes us.
Should be fun.

8:57 am - Quote for the Day
|
I found this quote online and liked it so much I felt the need to share it:
"LIFE'S JOURNEY is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy shit, what a ride!" - Mavis Leyrer age 83

I thought it was interesting that the top 4 of mine were all the same percentage....how's that possible.... So would that mean I would be some Frankenstein utilizing all of their powers together? Wow, that would be somethin'!

9:12 pm - Homage
|
I really liked this poem that my neices wrote in honor of my mom, their grandma that they read at the funeral and thought I'd post it:
God looked around his heaven and saw an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His heaven must be so beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you had pain and if you stayed on earth you would never be the same.
He noticed everything had been failing so he closed your tired eyes as he whispered “Peace be with you” and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you so calm and free of pain, It was impossible for us to wish you to earth to suffer again.
You have left us with precious memories and your love as a guide You are now a spirit that lives through our memories and we know you’re always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone For Papa Tom was there to seat you upon your throne.
We love and miss you every moment of every day But we know that you and Papa are watching us And that helps us ease our grieving each day.
Written by Katlynn Knier & Danielle Childers, her loving grand daughters

6:10 pm - Thanks!
|
Most everyone knows that my mom passed away very recently due to complications with her surgery for esophageal cancer. I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your loving thoughts and support. It's been comforting to have such an outpouring of affection and good will from everyone and that has helped me cope.
It's going to take a long time for me to heal, but I know that you all will be here to help me through it.
Thanks so much.
P.S. Jason, thank you for being my foundation, my rock, my light and my love. You are my family. Love you.

9:42 pm - New Metal Jesus Podcast!
|
Check it out

We are moved into our new house, the Rock Equipment is unpacked and we are whacked out on Scooby Snacks. During the last podcast, Foolking made the outrageous claim that the Crapmonkey’s taste in Metal music was… lacking. This episode features a rebuttal from the CrapMonkey and he plays us a bunch of examples of Metal songs worth your time. We end with a tribute to the mighty Gene Simmons of KISS and his 57th Birthday.
Listen closely and see if YOU can hear the kitty scratching...Hee hee hee...

11:28 pm - Mom is back at home - yay!
|
She got home around 1pm her time. But she said they kept her up half the night poking and prodding her, so she was going to bed - I don't blame her!!
But she's still got some swelling in her legs, so she has to take it easy until it goes down a bit more. I'm just glad she's doing better! :)
Anyhoo, just wanted to send out an update.

Hola,
Been a while, and quite a year for us. Yes, acefrehley and I got hitched in Vegas in June. DOOOD! It was SO much fun, I couldn't have expected things to go any better than they did. I had a blast. The only downside was that my mom couldn't make it.
She's had a tough Spring this year - had to have a double bypass surgery in late April, I went down to help out in May but she had a setback, so her doctor's said that she wasn't physically able to handle the trip which sucked the most. But we took tons of photos and we got a lot of film so we're making a dvd which we'll hopefully have finished in the next few weeks. I tell you it's so freakin' scary when that shit happens. I'm constantly on the lookout when I get a phone call from my sister. Like Friday night, mom had to go back to the emergency room b/c of excess swelling in her legs, turns out it's her congestive heart failure acting up. She's still there today, but they're working on getting the excess liquid down. I'm glad that she's in good hands. Her attitude is great, we're hoping she'll be home again in a couple more days.
We just finished moving - found a house right before we left for Vegas and just closed on it and got our asses moved. I didn't realize how much SHIT we had! 7 dump runs and we still have too much shit. I'm so glad to be out of our old place. It still feels like this is someone else's house! :) It's much nicer than what we're accustomed to! First off, it's warm AND it has a DISHWASHER!! I think I died and went to heaven....
All this plus my business is doing very well. I've had a great year so far and I'm loving it. I'm still very much into doing business by referral and it has proven to be the most rewarding. I love it!
So now we're getting used to a new neighborhood, new mortgage, and new housemate: foolking. FREAK!! ;P
We had an electrician here today to update the outlets and stuff in our basement so we should get our music stuff set up and hopefully we'll do another podcast very soon.
If you wanna check us out - hit: Metal Jesus Rocks
